I retired from personal blogging in July 2008.

Just into a multiday trip and my BlackBerry died.  No email, no phone, blank screen.

I haven’t not been continuously connected for 5 years.  This is very weird.

To avoid throwing up I’ll try to treat it as an experience. No mobile for 2 days. Don’t like it.

Oh dear….sounds like you might be afflicted with a serious dependency disorder….:-)

I regularly (and happily) switch my phone off or leave it in the office when I arrive home in the afternoon, and sometimes don’t even switch it on over the weekend. I find that this “grounds me” back to my family, my passions, my values. This might sound funny to high-speed business people (in fact, I prob fit this category), but I find it soooo refreshing!

That’s weird. Mine just died as well. Maybe some mobile virus going around.

Same problem travelling South Island last month for 3 weeks. Coverage goes in and out. Weird feeling not being connected for several days at a time. Kind of unnerving yet nice at the same time!
