I retired from personal blogging in July 2008.
But you can find me over at http://blog.xero.com.
Really exciting that we’re starting to see some great reviews of Xero out of the UK. This is one of the fun things about early market entry. After all the hard work it’s very satisfying to see these sort of comments coming through.
Another exciting accounting software system, at last!
Internet accounting’s second coming
In our home market it is of course much easier to generate buzz. In the UK we are unknown so it takes a lot more work. Our team is passionate about growing a global company from NZ so we get a real kick out of articles like these.
We’re not alone. SilverStripe and Ponoko are great examples of Wellington companies marking a mark on the world stage right now.

Congrats Rod
Well done Rod because Twinfield is huge.
You should be in London at the moment, its freezing and windy (just like Wellington).
Rod, do you already have full time people on the ground or is it directed from here?
SilverStripe link URL is broken Rod
Adam, works for me. Here ’tis again …

Max, we have a small team in the UK
Bring it on mate, great to see you guys surfacing publicly there, best of luck up there Hamish, the start of something big! A good year ahead.
Adam, wierd, I saw the article but it was pulled.
As a side note that article hinted that The Inquirer had previously experienced a problem with their website melting under the load of traffic and attributed this to it using open source code. (Quite the wrong conclusion: you can have code that works under load, or doesn’t, but its how you implement it, not whether you use open or closed source code.)
The link went to an article similar to this sort of story; http://www.stuff.co.nz/4435196a23918.html / http://www.stuff.co.nz/4433566a28.html
Hi Rod
Congratulations.
The TopAccountant article in particular is excellent.
A small suggestion :
The Xero Management Report is a very well designed report, great work
It might have better impact if the actual numbers shown on the first page for Profitability, Performance and Position were better !
They are all showing in the red.
I understand completely that this is meant to to show that you can highlight problems early on ( I have been using the red / green traffic light metaphor in my software for years ) but it might be nicer for people to open the report and see that the example business is (a) thriving and more importantly (b) it’s financial and cashflow and performance numbers have improved since they made the decision to go with Xero !
Having a beer with Hamish here in London next week
:)
Workin’ again now :) was giving me a 404 before.
