Just saw this on ResellerNews.
Dell who have been well know for a direct online sales model is announcing a partner program.
Dell channel programme official

Dell are leading the way in a number of areas (like hiring Andy). Interesting that a key value prop is a simple and straight forward partnering model.

There are some famous words that Michael Dell made about Apple back in the day that Microsoft gave Apple $150 Million about Apple directors being best served by giving their shareholders back there money, since that time Michael Dell has been surprisingly quiet about the difference in company valuations.
Apple has since then gone from a ‘no salvation’ hardware company to the largest market Cap Computer hardware company in the world currently valued at $170 million, beating IBM and HP! - Now only Cisco is ahead as far as hardware companies are counted.
Dell on the other hand have gone backwards and now have a market cap of somewhere around $55 Million, Michael dell came back to the helm and has made some big changes following Apples success with their Apple stores and Dell decided to start selling via the channel about six months ago.
Hardware has become a commodity and vendors who shift boxes are not gaining value in the same way that they were 5 years ago.
Think M Brooke’s numbers are incorrect. I’m sure he means billions.
