There are many broken things.  Email, the most popular application on the Internet, is the most broken of all. The main vendors control the mail clients and servers - locked into a long release cycle.

I’ve always thought doing email right would be fertile ground.

Also Yahoo buys Zimbra for $350m. There is still big ‘R&D by acquisition’ opportunities here. The prize is too valuable for the big boys to let someone else in.

The offline features of Zimbra are a possible draw here.

The calendar is also a strong point.

Saw Xobni at TechCrunch40 and they’d have to be on the radar. Very cool features to help fix your email problems. They must have been close to a win. Although you can forget about them for the Mac or Gmail.
