I don’t know Andy Lark personally, but did I read a NZ Herald article about him at the beginning of this year when he was here as a guest speaker in one of the conference that Rod mentioned here in his blog at that time. He talked about Loglogic in that article. I found Andy’s blog site by Google so I sent him an email to a link, with a list of published papers with different new algorithms in multivariate analysis which are applicable in the analysis of massive-dataset where Loglogic’s product is targeting, so he could pass it on to his R&D team. He replied to thank for the tip and said that the info is interesting.

I think that Loglogic has to watch out for SPSS & SAS, because those 2 vendors already have web-mining products for log-analysis of web-server data. It won’t be too long that those 2 vendors, would extend the capability of their products for analysis of any log data. I know that both SAS & SPSS do have a formal contract with some academic researchers to do original R&D for them. Some, of those researchers did attend the conference/workshop where the link for that conference proceedings papers, I sent Andy.

    Anyway congratulation Andy.
