I retired from personal blogging in July 2008.
But you can find me over at http://blog.xero.com.

Does anyone have video blogging production facilities in central Wellington. e.g. to produce shows like rocketboom
Would be a great little business for someone. We’d signup for a spot a week. Be great to be able to book a slot, take some vid, have it edited and then files dropped in all the usual formats.
Email me if interested. Possible funding available if someone wants to set up.

Hi Rod,
I produce a pod and some vlogs here and there, drop me a line and I might be able to help you out in some way.

The guys at R2 can probably do this. They handled all the video and audio recording for Webstock in May last year.

Dont have the facilities, but I think whoever does go forward with this should call the video blogging posts Vodcasts, just my 2c name thought
Hi Rod,
I am attending a business course right now with a called Kevin Watson and
another guy called Rob Acton who we were with today, Both mentioned your name.
I am trying to get set up doing exactly that, so by all means get in touch.
Reuben.
Hi Rod,
Yes we can do it. We can do multicamera live mix with post-edit, transcoding etc. So it can be a simple piece to camera, or a panel discussion with phone in questions, etc. Drop me an email or phone me on 021 897 089.
You can also do it your self with VLOGIT, but you’ll need a decent PC CPU and to make a decent result requires lights, mics and a decent camera optics.

Good sources of information and technologies are available at http://www.getdemocracy.com/news/
and maxcast.com as well - main benefit is the media server and the player which is similar to that used on myspace
Most blogs have a vlog plugin capability similar to that used for podcasting
haven’t tried http://www.seriousmagic.com/products/vlogit/ but looks like it could be useful
vlog is already a well known term for this and a search will show up many of the choices available.
Also if you wnat to get started right away on your WordPress blog then http://codex.wordpress.org/Plugins/Video has a list of vlog style plugins that will work now.
Not also that vlogit has been bought by Adobe so that is probably a good sign.
So it seems the technical side of things is covered but what about content?
As suggested in the original post a Rocketboom style daily show has definite potential, the key there I think is finding the right person to front it.
Another possibility I see would be a weekly or fortnightly panel discussion show with the likes of yourself Rod and other Wellington tech personalities.
