No surprises there. Peter was heavily involved in the development of the King Kong and original Lord of the Rings games.

A lot of people have left Weta for games companies in the states. I wonder if this is a move to try and retain some of the talent ?

I had the privilege recently to lift the hood on some of the stuff going on at weta & wingnut. It was mindblowing experience, and a real tribute to the teams inspired by messrs Jackson, Selkirk & Taylor. With the political scene turning every participator into nasty 5 year old right now it would be easy to be ashamed to be a kiwi. However this technology & arts stuff going on in Miramar more than balances things for this kiwi

I wonder if he’ll take the LucasArts approach to interactive fiction (’Escape from Monkey Island’ etc)?

Or maybe a rebirth of Infocom style immersive storytelling ?

Although not directly involved in game development (yet) we are looking to pitch several ideas for games to interested studios (we have had interest in the UK) and would love the chance to contact someone at Weta or Wingnut directly. Is it too early to do so at this stage, or is there a contact address available yet.

I would love to see some of the infocom style of interactive storytelling! Doesnt have to be all text or anything, but maybe something like The Longest Journey or Escape from Monkey Island would be wonderful!
