If your holding onto a 996 I’d flick it as this must decimate the resale.
This will be one of the riskiest launches ever for Porsche. Not because the car won’t be a success but how do they not cannibalize 911 sales. Unfortunately this means the Cayman has to, and will always be, crippled.
Pricing was originally planned to be less that a Boxster (speculation was around $NZ100k). Instead they’re going to pitch it between the Boxster S and 911.
If you compare the tin to make each car, they must cost exactly the same to make. So pricing is purely positioning and revenue maximizing.
